Did you ever just want to say, 'take this job and shove it?' In this true-to-life autobiographical tale, manga artist Hideo Azuma did exactly that. When the deadlines and creative pressures got the best of him, he decided to run away and become a homeless person.

Disappearance Diary recounts three periods in Azuma's life, when he "disappeared" from normal society and became a homeless person, a gas company pipe fitter and eventually checked into rehab for his alcoholism. While this may sound like a grim subject, Azuma fills Disappearance Diary with slice-of-life humor and witty observations about his life amongst the drunks, low-lifes and lunatics who call the streets home.
