Q: Do you have a favorite non-Japanese food?

Tsuneo Goda: Hm. I'm wracking my brains to pick my favorite non-Japanese food... When people ask me out to eat, I just say, anything! (pauses to think) Well, I love curry! (big smile)

Q: Are there plans to put Domo on TV in the US?

Tsuneo Goda: Domo has been out in America on Nickelodeon -- you can buy the DVD now too.

Q: The girl who baked the cake wants to know if you're married.

Tsuneo Goda: I am indeed, married. Sorry!

Q: Is Domo a lover or a fighter? (laughs)

Tsuneo Goda: Hmm. Well, Domo is definitely a lover. But his love can be twisted sometimes! But it's all in best intentions!

Q: Do you have a favorite story in the Domo manga?

Tsuneo Goda: I really liked the one where Domo was cooking, and there's a stag beetle that comes in… that's my favorite.

Q: how does Domo pick anything up? He doesn't have any fingers!

Tsuneo Goda: Uhh. Domo does lots of things. He holds chopsticks. I don't know. Magic? (laughs)

Q: What is your favorite bit of Domo memorabilia?

Tsuneo Goda: I like the manga! A lot of the merchandise is quite different in America and very different in Japan. I'm surprised at how different it is, and how there are things that they have here that they don't have in Japan.

Q: What does Domo smell like? I made the off-hand comment that he smells like cinnamon. But what do you think?

Tsuneo Goda: Lillian's right. To her, Domo smells like cinnamon. I agree that Domo shouldn't have a specific smell -- it should be your own choice. If he smells like pizza, like a dog, or like chocolate, then you're all right!

Q: We're thinking he smells like chocolate because of the cake! Does Domo have a girlfriend?

Tsuneo Goda: He does not have a girlfriend!

Q: Can we give him a girlfriend and name him after the girl who made the cake? (laughs)

Tsuneo Goda: I can't make the decision now -- I have to get to know who you are! 

Q: Why does Domo daydream so much?

Tsuneo Goda: Definitely one of Domo's habits is to constantly daydream. It's kind of a personality trait of many children. Domo is very genuine, very much like a child.

Previously, there were characters like Domo in the prehistoric era --- maybe if Domo is lucky maybe one of them didn't go extinct. He has lots of different kinds of friends who are animals, so maybe it might be one of him.

Q: How can you tell whether he is a boy or a girl. What would a female version of Domo look like?

Tsuneo Goda: Domo, like a dog, when you look at a dog, you can't tell at a glance if it's a boy or girl. Until a girl Domo appears, you won't know what a girl Domo looks like.

Q: Are there more Domo cartoons in the works in Japan?

Tsuneo Goda: There are no specific plans. I just want Domo to be just like he is -- whether in Japan, the US or anywhere else, I just want Domo to be Domo.

Q: What would happen if Domo met Hello Kitty? Would they get along?

Tsuneo Goda: Hm! That's a hard question!! We'll, we've never heard Hello Kitty speak, so it might be hard for them to communicate! It might take some time, but if they work at it, they might become friends.

Q: We've seen him as Superman, we see Domo do more cosplay? Will we see him in outfits like Gothic Lolita?

Tsuneo Goda: (laughs) Well, Domo is not trying to be a Gothic Lolita, but that's a good thing. He can't wear too much clothes, because you don't want people to think 'Oh, he's naked' when he's just in his natural state.

Q: What would Domo think if he saw all that stuff at the 7-11. Would he be excited or scared?

Tsuneo Goda: I enjoy myself when I come to the States, to see all the billboards and 7-11. I think Domo would enjoy it -- he'd be having his moment!

Q: We're out of time, so would you like to share any last messages to your American fans?

Tsuneo Goda: Domo means many things. Many of you know that Domo means 'thank you' -- but Domo also means 'I'm sorry' -- or goodbye. So me and Domo would like to say "Domo!"
