WonderCon 2008 – Creepshow Camp

You too can be a zombie! That's the promise of Creepshow Camp, a very different summer camp experience for "young devotees of horror, sci-fi and suspense."

Comics and comics creators was just one part of WonderCon 2008. There were also booths highlighting events and products geared toward sci-fi and horror fans, including Creepshow Camp.

Geared for kids age 9 to 14, Creepshow Camp holds four 2 week sessions from June through August in San Francisco. Make-up artists, special effects specialists and actors share the secrets behind scary movies, and prep young Jasons, Freddys and Leatherfaces for a stage show for family and friends at the end of the two-week session. Creepshow Camp is run by Russell Blackwood, the creator of Bay Area Shakespeare Camps.

Classes are held Monday through Fridays, 9 am - 3:00 pm, with aftercare available from 3:00 - 5:30 pm for an additional fee. First session starts on June 16. Tuition for these classes is $375. To sign up, contact Russell Blackwood at The Hypnodrome, phone (415) 377-4202.
