Based on the novel Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa, Takehiko Inoue's manga Vagabond focuses on two legendary swordsmen: Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro.

Inoue's mural is featured on the second floor landing of Books Kinokuniya's Bryant Park store, immediately at the top of the escalator. By Monday afternoon, most of the artwork was completed, with only a few finishing touches left to be done to the painting of Sasaki Kojiro.

In front of an appreciative audience, Inoue filled in the grass at Kojiro's feet with a few deft strokes of his brush.
