Recognized as the father of modern manga, Osamu Tezuka was an innovative and prolific force in Japanese comics from the 1940's and up until his death in 1989. A retrospective exhibit of over 200 examples of Tezuka's original artwork is now on display at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco from June 2 - September 9, 2007.
