Death Note cosplay was a popular theme at the New York Anime Festival, but this threesome dressed up as L, Misa and Mello caught my eye for their attention to detail and for getting into character for the camera.
When I asked them about their favorite manga, Adam (L) chose Beck, "because it's realistic and based on everyday issues." Becky (Misa) picked Nana as her fave, for its plot and the punk rock themes. For her pick, Marissa (Mello) singled out Clamp's X 1999, because "the art is really nice, and it has a really interesting plot line."
