About Manga Cafe Mika:

Opened in May 2008, Manga Cafe Mika was San Francisco's first manga cafe. Much like the manga kissaten in Japan, manga cafes offer readers an opportunity to read and enjoy manga without having to buy and store them at home, or just preview a series before they buy.

Stocked with over 20,000 current and classic manga volumes as well as monthly magazines, Manga Cafe Mika's inventory was comprised of roughly 90% Japanese language manga, with 10% translated English manga. After a year in business, Manga Cafe Mika closed in August 2009.
