While the superheroes outnumbered the shinigami at New York Comic-Con, that didn't stop Alex M. and Genesis E. from showing off their Soul Reaper style as 8th division captain Shunsui Kyoraku and his lieutenant Nanao Ise from Bleach, the hit anime and shonen manga series by Tite Kubo.
When I asked the pair about their favorite manga, Alex replied, "It's got to be Bleach. I just love the story, it's very epic, and very original." Meanwhile, Genesis laughed off the question by saying "I"m just an accessory! I just do what he says... most of the time!"
VIZ Media made several announcements at NYCC relating to Bleach at NYCC, including the fall release of the Bleach artbook, All Colors But the Black and the Bleach fanbook, Souls: The Rain Drags Black Sun Down. Also, look for the limited theatrical release of the first Bleach animated feature film, Bleach: Memories of Nobody in June.
