Stan Lee, the creator of popular Marvel Comics superheroes Spiderman, The Fantastic Four and too many more to mention, made a special appearance at a press-only event promoted by VIZ Media on Friday afternoon. Joined by Shueisha editor Takanori Asada (whose prior credits included being originating editor on other Shonen Jump series including Bleach, One Piece and Eyeshield 21, Lee talked about Ultimo, his new collaboration with Hiroyuki Takei, the creator of Shaman King.
The artwork to the right of Lee and Asada-san is of Dunstan, a character from Ultimo who was inspired by Lee. Dunstan makes a cameo in the first few pages of Ultimo as the creator of the two robot boys, Ultimo and Vice. Check out the spider tattoo on Dunstan's chest, a tribute to Lee's creation, Spiderman.
