Detroit Metal City by Kiminori Wakasugi is a relatively new manga series to U.S. fans, but it's already a hit in Japan that has inspired an anime series and a live action movie.
So what's it about? Mainly it's about an outrageous death metal band called Detroit Metal City that's led by a demonic, profanity-spewing singer, Krauser II. The strange but incredibly funny twist? Under his makeup, Krauser is really mild-mannered Soichiro Negishi, a dweeby guy who wants nothing more than to sing sweet pop songs about romance.
