About This Event:
"The New York Anime Festival is a celebration of classic and cutting-edge anime, manga, and Japanese culture taking place in the heart of New York City!"
2007 marked the first year for the New York Anime Festival, but it's not the first event of this kind put on by its promoter, Reed Exhibitions. Besides promoting major events including BookExpo America, the London Book Fair and the Tokyo International Book Fair, Reed Exhibitions also runs the New York Comic-Con. The Jacobs Javits Center is located in the heart of Manhattan, the home of manga publishers including Del Rey Manga, DC Comics and Yen Press.
