Email Your Guide

Like all the Guides at About.com, I'm a real person who loves to read comic books and graphic novels, especially manga or Japanese comics. You can email me at manga.guide@about.com.

F.A.Q.

  1. Q. What is manga?
    A. manga literally means 'whimsical or humorous pictures' in Japanese, and the general term for Japanese comics. While many manga are made into anime (animated TV shows or movies), manga refers to comics and graphic novels drawn in the Japanese-style.
  2. Q. This is my first visit to your site. What can I find here? What do you write about?
    A. Many visitors drop by to find out more about what manga is, discover new graphic novels to read and learn more about their favorite series and characters. Here you'll find reviews of new and classic manga series, get news about manga, profiles of mangaka (comics artists and writers) and an introduction to the art of manga and tips on how to draw your own comics. I'll also share info about Japanese culture as seen in the pages of your favorite manga.
