As announced at Comic-Con 2012, VIZ Media will be adding Blue Exorcist by Kazue Kato to the Shonen Jump Alpha line-up, starting with the Monday, July 30 issue.
To get caught up with the most current storyline, VIZ will be releasing Blue Exorcist Volume 8 as a digital first release on VIZManga.com on Monday, July 30; several months before the scheduled November 2012 release of the print edition. Volume 8 includes chapters chapters 28 to 32. The July 30 issue of Shonen Jump Alpha will feature Chapter 33, followed by Chapter 34-35 in the August 6 issue and Chapter 36-37 on August 13.
By the time the August 20 issue of Shonen Jump Alpha is out, you'll be reading the very latest chapter of Blue Exorcist only weeks after it was published in Japan. Thereafter, you'll read a new chapter of Blue Exorcist every month (because it's a monthly series that's featured in Jump SQ magazine in Japan)
Blue Exorcist is one of the most popular newcomers to the shonen manga scene of the past few years (it was one of our picks as the best continuing manga series for kids/teens at the 2012 Best and Worst Manga Panel at Comic-Con 2012).
Blue Exorcist is an action-packed series about twin brothers Rin and Yukio Okamura, who are the sons of Satan that were raised by a priest/exorcist. While they're twins, Rin and Yukio couldn't be more different: Rin is fun-loving, fiery-tempered, and a bit of a so-so student. His brother Yukio is studious and serious, and an respected exorcist in his own right. Meanwhile Rin has inherited demonic powers; powers that he's determined to control and use to defeat Satan.
