Dark Horse Digital Adds Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service + 6 More Manga/Manhwa

By , About.com Guide   January 24, 2012

Follow me on:

Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service Vol. 1Now that Dark Horse has added right-to-left reading capabilities to their Dark Horse Digital website and apps for tablets and smart phones running Apple's iOS (iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch) and Google's Android operating system, they're adding more and more titles from their extensive back catalog of manga from Japan and manhwa from Korea to their online offerings.

The latest additions to the Dark Horse Digital line-up?  Supernatural horror series (and critic's fave) Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service by Eiji Otsuka and Housui Yamazaki, Mail by Housui Yamazaki and Blood+ by Asuka Katsura. The first volumes of each of these manga series are scheduled to debut on digital.darkhorse.com on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

UPDATE: The three new manga titles (all licensed from Kadokawa Shoten) have region restrictions. They are only available to read online via digital.darkhorse.com or via Dark Horse's iOS or Android apps to readers in the U.S. (and some U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and Northern Mariana Islands) and Canada. Each volume is available for $5.99 each.

But that's not all. Dark Horse Digital also recently added four action-packed manhwa series from Korea for your online reading enjoyment. They include:

UPDATE: Chunchu, Banya, XS Hybrid and Shaman Warrior also have region restrictions. They are only available to readers in the U.S., Canada, and some U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands and something called "United States Minor Outlying Islands". In addition to these territories, Chunchu and Banya are available to readers in the United Kingdom.

While these recently added manga/manhwa titles have region restrictions, many other Dark Horse Digital titles are available to readers around the world. Dark Horse's manga/manhwa titles with no noted region restrictions include:

Dark Horse DigitalThe digital editions of Dark Horse's manhwa and manga titles run about $5.99 a volume (double-sized volumes like Kazuo Koike's Color of Rage and Crying Freeman are $6.99, but still a deal), which is a considerable discount from the cover prices of the print editions of these titles. They also offer a special bundle of 10 volumes of Lone Wolf and Cub for $44.99 that is well worth checking out.

Check out the rest of the Dark Horse Digital manga and manhwa offerings, and give 'em a whirl on your iPad, iPhone and/or Android phone/tablet PC. If we show our love for DH's manga/manhwa offerings, who knows what'll they'll be adding to the mix next?

Me? I'm dying for them to add GANTZ, Berserk, and Blade of the Immortal to the mix, just because I really want to catch up with those long-running series, but don't want to break the bank trying to get 'em all in print. I'd also love to see some of their CLAMP titles too, like Cardcaptor Sakura and Gate 7. How about you? What's on your Dark Horse Digital wishlist? Add your suggestions below!

Don't have the Dark Horse Digital apps for your Apple iOS device (iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch) or Android-enabled device? Just visit the Apple iTunes App Store or the Android Market to download these free apps today.
