Just before the holidays, SuBLime Manga launched their website and to celebrate, they announced a new addition to their digital-only publishing line-up: Yebisu Celebrities by Kaoru Iwamoto and Shinri Fuwa (creator of A Gentlemen's Kiss and Intense Rain, both published by Digital Manga Publishing).
Yebisu Celebrities was once published by BeBeautiful, Central Park Media's now defunct boys' love imprint. SuBLime is offering this out-of-print yaoi manga series to readers around the world (not just North America) as a digital-only release via the SuBLime Manga website, and as a digital download that can be read on e-reader devices and tablet computers.
The first volume of Yebisu Celebrities is due out in March 2012, followed by the second and third volumes in June and September 2012. There are currently six volumes of the series available in Japan.
Yebisu Celebrities follows the loves (and lusty adventures) of the sharp-dressed men who work at a high-end advertising firm. Haruka is a fresh-faced newcomer who has caught the eye of the guy in charge -- and since this is BL manga, you know it's not just because Haruka is a whiz at Powerpoint.
The SuBLime website has launched, but the first titles won't be available for purchase/download until January 31, 2012 (not December, as originally announced at Yaoi-Con 2011). To make up for it, the first batch of digital-only releases will include four volumes, including two first volumes and two one-shots. All will be available to readers worldwide for $5.99 each:
- Husband, Honeymoon Volume 1 by Haruka Minami
- Love Pistols Volume 1 by Tarako Kotobuki
- Oku-san's Daily Fantasies by Noboru Takatsuki
- The Bed of My Dear King by Sakae Kusama
The February releases (which will be available on February 14, 2012) are:
- Devil's Honey by Isaku Natsume
- Husband, Honeymoon Volume 2 by Haruka Minami
- Love Pistols Volume 2 by Tarako Kotobuki
The SuBLime Manga forums aren't open yet, but you're welcome to post your comments, questions and suggestions for the SuBLime editors at their Facebook page or tweet 'em via Twitter at @SuBLimeManga.
