The boys are back in town - or at least the very cute versions of Italy, Germany, Japan, China and the United States from Hidekaz Himaruya's Hetalia Axis Powers, as the second volume of this gleefully politically-incorrect manga storms onto this week's New York Times Graphic Books Bestseller List to debut at #1. Meanwhile, the first volume of Hetalia maintains its hold on its spot in the NYT Top 10, as it hangs out in the #6 slot.
Since its debut in September 2010, Hetalia has been making a strong showing on the sales charts -- but this doesn't include the sales from the various digital download sites that are also offering Hetalia such as comiXology or Zinio - so that might mean that Hetalia is actually selling even more than the NYT chart indicates. Food for thought as we head into an increasingly digital landscape for manga publishing in North America.
Also notable on the TokyoPop front is the return of Alice in the Country of Hearts Volume 5, as it pops up in the Top 10 again after a two week absence.
Here's the rest of the New York Times Graphic Books Manga Top 10 for the week ending January 2, 2010.

Nothing on that list is worth me purchasing though
You guys listed Hetalia Volume 1 twice. I smell a typo.
I’ll go fix.
