There are many, many devotees who adore the creations of CLAMP, that fan-favorite foursome who have drawn hit manga series like xxxHolic, Magic Knight Rayearth, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle and too many other titles to mention in one paragraph. Me? I'm not one of them. Sure, their art is lovely, but I find many of their stories to be somewhat slow-moving and hard to follow.
So that's what I went into when I got the first two volumes of Kobato., their new series released in the U.S. by Yen Press. But Yen Press did something special, and kind of thoughtful: they released both volumes in one shot in mid-May, which gave me (and other readers) an opportunity to go a little deeper into this series before passing judgment.
So what was my verdict on this story of a girl, a crabby blue dog and their mission to heal broken hearts? Find out in my review of Kobato. Volumes 1 and 2 by CLAMP from Yen Press. You can also visit Yen Press' webpage for Kobato. to learn more about this new series from (almost) everyone's favorite comics creators.
