Digital Manga Publishing announced today that their special guest for Yaoi-Con 2010 will be manga artist Hinako Takanaga, the creator of fan favorite boys love titles such as Little Butterfly and the upcoming DMP release, The Tyrant Falls in Love. Takanaga-sensei will be appearing at Yaoi-Con, which will be held on October 29 - 31, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport Hotel, in Burlingame, California.
This marks Takanaga-sensei's second visit to Yaoi-Con. Her first Yaoi-Con appearance was in 2007.
Takanaga-sensei's stories are a favorite with fans, and several of her works have been published in English by BLU / TokyoPop, Deux Press/Aurora Publishing and DMP. Some recent and popular titles include: Love Round!! (Deux Press), Croquois and Liberty! Liberty! (both from BLU/ TokyoPop) and the bittersweet tale of two high school boys in love, Little Butterfly, which was recently re-released as a single omnibus edition by DMP.
Takanaga will be at Yaoi-Con 2010 to celebrate the release of The Tyrant Falls in Love, about two very different college classmates. Here's DMP's description of the story:
University student Tetsuhiro Morinaga has been in love with his homophobic, violent and tyrannical sempai Souichi Tatsumi for more than four years now. Even though he's told Tatsumi how he feels and even managed to steal a kiss, expecting anything more seems like nothing more than the stuff of dreams... That is until the long-oppressed Morinaga gets his biggest chance ever. Might his unendingly unrequited love finally be returned?
The Tyrant Falls in Love is due to be released by DMP on August 18, 2010 on DMP's June Manga imprint.
Takanaga-sensei is the latest special guest added to an already exciting Yaoi-Con line-up. Earlier this year, Yaoi-Con organizers announced that manga artist Ayano Yamane,the creator of Crimson Spell and the soon-to-be-rereleased Finder Series (also from DMP) would be the featured special guest at this annual boys love fest.
