You don't often see historical drama in manga, much less yaoi manga. That's kind of too bad, because if over-the-top drama of Ludwig II from Digital Manga Publishing is any indication, there are rich veins of storytelling yet to be mined.
The title character of Ludwig II was a real person -- Ludwig Friedrich Wilhelm, a.k.a. "the Mad King of Bavaria" -- but was he really an insatiable bishonen babe who only had eyes for any handsome young thing within groping distance?
Well, maybe not. But when interpreted by manga artist You Higuri (Cantarella, Nighthead Genesis), the extravagant life of Ludwig II is the basis for some major melodrama and yes, some sexy time too.
