Happy Cafe Vol. 1The holidays are a time to cherish friends, family and good times -- so perhaps its fitting that TokyoPop is releasing Happy Café, a light-hearted shojo manga romantic comedy by Kou Matsuzuki on December 29.

True to its title, Happy Café is a cheerful story about a Uru, a spunky but klutzy high school girl who finds a job as a waitress at a neighborhood cafe. As she works alongside a stern but kind-hearted pastry chef and a friendly but slightly narcoleptic waiter, Uru strives to find her own little piece of happiness among the sweet treats and her hottie co-workers.

So does this happy-go-lucky romance have the right ingredients to be the next big shojo manga hit, or is it just a sweet, but forgettable bit of fluff? Check out my review of Happy Café Volume 1, or take a peek at a free online preview of the first chapter of Happy Café at TokyoPop.com and see if it's got the right stuff to leave you craving for more.
