Attention aspiring artists of all ages, especially those in the San Francisco Bay Area. The promoters of the Holiday Anime Faire in Fremont is putting out an open call for entries for their manga art and coloring contest to promote their upcoming art and family fun festival on December 5, 2009.
For artists from grades K through 6, there's a coloring contest. For artists age 13 and up, there's a postcard art contest. For the postcard contest, artists are asked to create an original 4" x 6" drawing, either color or black and white featuring the Holiday Anime Faire mascots. Prizes donated by Sakura of America, VIZ Media, Dark Horse and P.M.B.Q. Studios will be awarded in each age group and for several categories.

The Holiday Anime Faire will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009, from 10 am - 3 pm at Fremont Teen Center at 39770 Paseo Padre Parkway in Fremont, California. Pre-registration is now open. Attendees can buy pre-sale tickets for $5, or $8 at the door. Admission fee includes 2 activity tickets (good for making your own cards, crafts, and ornaments) and a goodie bag.
For an additional fee, aspiring artists can sign up to attend a manga art workshop taught by the Manga Start artists. Two sessions are offered: 11 am - 11:45 am and 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm. Attendees who register prior to the day of the show can attend the workshops for an additional $5, or pay $8 at the door.
In addition to the manga art activities, shoppers can also pick up that special handmade gift or anime goodie for friends and just enjoy the holiday vibe.
