From Nippon Cinema and Anime News Network: A new trailer for the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of Sakuragi Yukiya's manga, InuBaka: Crazy for Dogs has been posted. You can check out this short clip at Nippon Cinema, or at the official InuBaka movie website.
Billed as a "Love Dog Story," InuBaka is directed by Yoriko Jun, and the film opens in Japan on November 21, 2009. InuBaka stars actress/pop singer Suzanne as Suguri, a näive country gal who has an unusual affinity for dogs. Actor/singer Hidenori Tokuyama co-stars as Teppei, the no-nonsense owner of Woofles, a pet store that specializes in purebred pups. When this mismatched pair meet, it's largely because of their dogs. Suguri's mixed breed mutt Lupin gets a little too friendly with Teppei's purebred black Labrador, and Suguri ends up working at Woofles to make up for this faux pas.
The InuBaka manga is featured in Young Jump magazine in Japan. The English edition of InuBaka: Crazy for Dogs is published in the US by VIZ Media, and the 14th volume of this ongoing romantic comedy series is due out this month.
No U.S. release dates have been announced for this manga movie, but hopefully, its VIZ Media connection might make it appealing for VIZ Pictures to pick it up as part of its other manga movies line-up.

I love Inubaka, but I’m a bit disappointed at Suzanne having the lead role. She seems a bit..forced..in the trailer and pictures so far.
But ah well, the saddest thing is that we’ll probably never get this anime down under! Booooo~~
