ShojoBerry logoIn June 2009, VIZ Media announced that they were ending publication of their monthly shojo manga magazine Shojo Beat after four years of bringing fans hits like Vampire Knight, Nana and much more. Many fans were dismayed by the news. But one group of fans decided to do more than just be bummed out -- they decided to launch their own shojo manga magazine for American fans, and recently shared the news about their project, ShojoBerry magazine.

But even after reading through the ShojoBerry Facebook page, I was left with several nagging questions: Would ShojoBerry be a magazine just like Shojo Beat, or would it be more like a fanzine? When would it debut? What kind of manga, if any, would they feature in their magazine?

To get answers to these questions, I sent an e-mail to Garrett Boast, the publisher of ShojoBerry. Being the good sport that he is, Boast answered all of my nosy questions to shed more light on what his crew has got planned for the Spring 2010 debut of their new manga magazine. Check out my interview with Garrett Boast about ShojoBerry, and see if it answers a few of your questions about this new shojo manga magazine that is "Hoping to help fill the gap in the Shojo Manga world."

So what do you think about ShojoBerry? Add your vote in this online poll -- or chime in on the manga forums!
