Manga Review: Oh! My Brother Gets Too Close for Comfort

Follow me on:

Oh My Brother Vol. 1In Oh! My Brother , a new shojo manga series by Ken Saito, two siblings find that sharing is caring -- but having two souls co-habitating one body can make for some pretty awkward situations, especially when one's a shy girl and the other is an outgoing guy.

Oh! My Brother focuses on Masago, the shy younger sister of Shiro, an effortlessly popular and charismatic high school teen. When Shiro sacrifices his life to protect her, Masago is devastated -- then horrified when she discovers that Shiro's spirit has taken up residence in her body. To make matters worse, Shiro doesn't take too kindly to any guy getting too close to Masago, and he's not afraid to butt in when he thinks any one is fostering even the slightest romantic feelings for Masago.

It sounds like it has the makings of a madcap, gender-bending comedy, right? Well... kinda. Not exactly. Check out my review of Oh! My Brother Volume 1 by Ken Saito from CMX Manga and find out why this dramedy sometimes gets a little too close for comfort.

Oh! My Brother is one of the 50 new and noteworthy manga for Fall 2009. See the rest of the list and find out what's coming soon to a bookstore or comics shop near you.
