Summer has ended but while the convention season is winding down and school is back in session, there's are several reasons to be glad that Fall is here -- 50 to be exact. Or at least that's the amount of new manga, graphic novels and art books featured in my Fall 2009 Preview of Manga Must-Reads.
I browsed through my convention notes, publishers' catalogs and stacks of galleys to pick out the new and noteworthy manga that will be coming soon to a bookstore or comics shop between now and the end of 2009. There's much more than 50 new titles on the schedule, but I wanted to spotlight several that are worth a look, and maybe worth pre-ordering.
Take a peek -- there's practically something for every taste here. Looking for a few laughs? Pick up the new Yen Press editions of Yotsuba&!. Aching for a little romance? Check out Itazura na Kiss. Want something that's artistically innovative and thought-provoking? Try GoGo Monster from Taiyo Matsumoto. On top of that, there are some awesome art books that will make great gifts for the holidays -- or added to your own wish list.
