After reading literally thousands of volumes of manga to write Manga: The Complete Guide in 2007, Jason Thompson announced his plans for updating this indispensible guide to Japanese comics in English this weekend at Kumori-Con 2009 in Portland, Oregon. Starting on September 16, 2009, Suvudu.com will be featuring five new manga reviews on their website every week, one a day each Monday - Friday. To celebrate, Suvudu and Thompson will be giving a prize pack of 5 volumes of manga from Thompson's collection to a lucky winner EVERY DAY. If you're good with math, you've figured out that's 1,825 volumes of manga.
Here's the dealio: You'll need to visit Suvudu.com and fill out the entry form on the site to be eligible to win the daily manga prize pack. But wait, here's the bonus round: If you also post a photo of yourself with your graphic novel collection, you'll be eligible to win an additional five volumes of manga -- for a total of ten volumes. If every winner submits a photo, that means Thompson's collection may be up to 3,650 volumes lighter by the September 2010.
