It's less than a month until Anime Expo 2009 in Los Angeles, and the guest list just gets better every day. Now in addition to manga artist Yasuhiro Nightow (the creator of Trigun), AX 2009 is also welcoming Japanese manga-ka Yun Kouga, creator of Loveless, Earthian, Gestalt and character designer for Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
This visit to Anime Expo on July 2 - 5, 2009 will mark Kouga-sensei's first visit to an American anime or comics convention. She'll be joined by Seiji Mizushima, director of the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam 00 feature-length movie.
Kouga-sensei, Nightow-sensei and Mizushima-san are just a sampling of the numerous anime, manga, and J-pop stars scheduled to appear at Anime Expo. Besides Japanese singing sensations Morning Musume, AX '09 will also feature appearances by the creators and crew of Robot Chicken, Adult Swim's geektastic comedy skit/show, and a huge reunion of cast members from several seasons of The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Early preregistration discount pricing has ended, but if you register now, you can still save a little cash than the at-the-door entry pricing. Keep in mind that many of the concerts and special guest appearances do require ticketing for entry, so if you're interested in any of these events, check out the ticketing guidelines now, so you're not sorry later.
