Attention college students and manga fans: If you are attending classes in the Los Angeles-area, here's your chance to get your foot in the door in the manga publishing biz, and score some college credit too. TokyoPop has announced that they have openings for college interns for the Winter / Spring 2009 semesters.
Openings are available in four departments: Editorial, Marketing, Design and Legal, and require a 16 - 20 hour per week commitment. These aren't paid positions, but you'll be working for college credit (provided that your college accepts these sorts of arrangements), and you'll get invaluable real-world experience in the publishing business. Depending on which department you'll be interning with, your duties may range from proof-reading manga, helping to manage contests and promotions, research trends online or helping to prepare manga for publication.
Check out the job descriptions, qualifications and more information about this opportunity at TokyoPop's website. Once you've checked with your college and polished up your resume, send it via email to interns@tokoypop.com.
