Friday: Manga Publisher Broccoli's Final Warehouse Sale in L.A.

Follow me on:

We first heard about Broccoli Books' plans to close their U.S. offices in late November. This Friday, December 12 the manga publisher of Di-Gi-Charat and Sola is holding a massive warehouse sale to clear the shelves and liquidate their stock of art supplies (including manga screentones), toys and accessories at blowout prices.

Here's the details:

  • Date: December 12, 2008 (Friday)
  • Time: 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
  • Location: 1728 S. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90035
  • Telephone: 310-815-0604
  • CASH ONLY - no credit/debit cards or checks accepted.
  • All sales final
Space is limited at the warehouse, so only 5 shoppers allowed in at a time, with a 15-minute time limit if there's a line. Shoppers may re-enter after standing in line again. See more information about the sale at the Broccoli Books Blog.

So what's on sale? It's quite a mix. Products and prices are listed on Broccoli's Blog, including screentones at $5 for a box of 500 tones, $1 for 10 packs of manga paper, collectible figurines from $1 - $10 each, and grab bags of goodies. Interestingly, what's NOT included in the blowout discounts are Broccoli's extensive line of graphic novels, art books, t-shirts and logo hats, although they will be available for sale at this event.

This isn't the end of the story, as Broccoli has yet to announce the fate of some of their graphic novel series that haven't finished their runs, much less their deluxe edition of Cosmode. I'll be waiting to hear more, but here's hoping that Broccoli's top-notch books will find a new home soon.
