Manga Review: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Vol. 1

Tuesday September 23, 2008

Put together a perennially popular video game character with manga-style fantasy and adventure and you have The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a kid-friendly comic from VIZ Kids / VIZ Media that even non-gamers can get into.

After several decades of creating games and consoles, Nintendo has a pantheon of cartoon characters that are almost as popular as Disney's cartoon creations. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Donkey Kong have been favorite afternoon playmates for several generations of gamers. Now Link, the elfin hero of The Legend of Zelda jumps off the video screen to bring his swords and sorcery quest to manga fans.

Check out my review of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Volume 1 and see if this video game manga is strictly for the young 'uns, or if it has enough fantasy fun that even older fans can enjoy.
