Interview: Hiro Mashima, Manga Creator of Fairy Tail

San Diego Comic-Con International truly earned its name this year, as several top Japanese manga artists came to town to meet their fans. Hiro Mashima, the manga artist / creator of Fairy Tail and Rave Master made his way to California, courtesy of Del Rey Manga. At his two autograph sessions and at his spotlight panel appearance, Mashima-sensei impressed just about everyone with his enthusiasm and his mischievous sense of humor, not to mention his lightning-fast drawing skills.

Beside catching his panel Q&A, I also got a chance to sit and chat a bit with this profilic creator, and got some insight into the real-life inspirations for the magical mayhem in Fairy Tail and a few hints at some intriguing plot twists that are around the bend.
