Comic-Con '08: Tekkon Kinkreet Scores Sole Eisner Win for Manga

13 manga nominees went into Friday night's Eisner Awards ceremony at San Diego Comic-Con, but only one came out with an award: Tekkon Kinkreet by Taiyo Matsumoto from VIZ Media.

Granted, many of these nominees were long-shots given that the vast majority of the Eisners voting block clearly seem unaware of the truly great manga out there. But I had hoped that the class of 2008 manga nominees would at least scoop one more award to improve upon their showing from last year.
