10 Survival Tips for San Diego Comic-Con '08
Holy cow. For the first time ever, passes for San Diego Comic-Con are completely sold out before the show. This happened as of last week Wednesday, a full week before the huge comics / sci-fi / anime / toys / manga shindig at the San Diego Convention Center even opened its doors. So if you haven't gotten your passes to attend, you're pretty much out of luck.
I've seen Comic-Con passes listed on Craig's List Los Angeles for $200 and up -- which is pretty steep considering that the 4-day passes (which were sold out about a month ago) are normally priced at $75. With attendance topping 125,000 last year, this show just gets bigger and bigger every year.
If you are already planning on attending Comic-Con and it's your first time, or if you're thinking about attending next year's show, here's a few sanity-saving travel tips, or what I'm calling my 10 Survival Tips for San Diego Comic-Con.
I'm going to spare you all the tip about "bathing regularly" that often appears in Convention Rules, because I'm going to assume we're all adults here, and we know how to turn on a shower at least once a day. And frankly, no matter what any of us say or do, it *is* late July in Southern California, so it'll be hot outside and some people will just reek no matter what. Think of it like "Burning Man for Geeks," and it'll all be fine.
The countdown begins! Four days to Comic-Con! Yee-hah!

It was sold out last year as well.
Yes, but it sold out at the show. This is the first time that all passes have sold out a week before the show.
