Comic-Con '08: Dark Horse Hosts Trigun, Vampire Hunter D Manga Artists

Dark Horse has announced that they'll be hosting autograph sessions for two major manga talents at San Diego Comic-Con 2008: Yasuhiro Nightow (Trigun and Trigun Maximum) and Yoshitaka Amano ( Vampire Hunter D and Final Fantasy). The autograph sessions will be ticketed events and winning fans who will get their books signed by Amano-sensei and Nightow-sensei will be selected by lottery on the day of the signings.

With his sci-fi Western series enjoying perennial popularity with American fans, Nightow-sensei returns to Comic-Con for two autograph sessions:

  • Friday, July 25, 5:00 - 6:00 pm
  • Sunday, July 27, 12:00 - 1:00 pm
Yoshitaka Amano (Vampire Hunter D and Final Fantasy)
With his lyrical and distinctive illustrations, Amano-sensei is a versatile and prolific artist who has enjoyed a enduring career as a leading animator, character designer and fantasy illustrator. Amano-sensei is no stranger to the American comics scene, as he has collaborated with American authors to illustrate both Sandman and Elektra graphic novels for Vertigo and Marvel Comics. Amano-sensei will only have one appearance at Comic-Con, but will return to the U.S. for New York Anime Festival in September.
