Vampire Hunter D Creators Kikuchi and Amano to Appear at NYAF
New York Anime Festival and Dark Horse Comics are bringing two of the creators of the popular Vampire Hunter D series of light novels, manga and anime to meet and greet fans at Manhattan's Jacob Javits Center in September 26 - 28, 2008.
Yoshitaka Amano is best known as the character designer for Vampire Hunter D and the Final Fantasy series, in addition to his numerous other creative credits including Gatchaman and a creative collaboration with Neil Gaiman to create Sandman: The Dream Hunters.
Hideyuki Kikuchi is the author and creator of Vampire Hunter D, and is one of Japan's most prolific horror writers. He wrote his first story, Demon City Shinjuku in 1982, and has since penned almost a hundred books. Another notable fact: Kikuchi-sensei will be celebrating his 59th birthday with fans at NYAF.
