NY Comic-Con: Autograph Session for Speed Racer Manga

More cool stuff to look forward to this weekend at New York Comic-Con! Peter Fernandez, the voice of Speed from the English version of the Speed Racer animated series will be autographing copies of the deluxe Speed Racer manga 2-volume boxed set by Tatsuo Yoshida from Digital Manga Publishing. With 2008 marking the 40th anniversary of this iconic anime series and the upcoming release of the feature film, Speed Racer this summer, there's lots of momentum behind this revival of Mach 5 mania.

Fernandez previously appeared at New York Anime Festival 2007, but this marks the first time he'll be signing copies of DMP's deluxe hardcover edition of Yoshida's classic shonen manga series that inspired the anime. Here's the schedule of Fernandez' appearances this weekend:

I'm dying to check this book out! There's not a lot of classic manga out there (pre-1980's), but when a publisher finds an excuse to bring something this cool out and do it in style, that's always cause for celebration.
