Pop Japan Travel Announces Mind Over Manga Tour

Attention aspiring manga artists: Pop Japan Travel and Digital Manga Publishing is offering a rare opportunity to show and sell your comics in the heart of the action in Japan. Participants in the first-ever Mind Over Manga tour will not only get to experience the excitement of Comitia, a major Japanese comics show, they'll also be showing and selling their own professionally-printed doujinshi.

As the Pop Japan Travel website explains it:

Unlike Comiket and other dojinshi events, Comitia focuses on original work — not fan fiction. Its focus is on the display of independent art, and since 1984 the event has been nurturing promising amateur artists and hosting top illustrators like Range Murata, okama, Yasuhiro Nightow, Ugetsu Hakua and many more! This is an unprecedented opportunity for brand new artists and established small press comics artists to connect with their kindred spirits in Japan!

The tour will be from August 21 - 28, 2008, and while prices haven't been set yet, interested travelers are encouraged to sign up for the Pop Japan Travel mailing list to learn more about this exciting opportunity as more details are revealed.
