Shonen Jump: Hikaru no Go Goes, Slam Dunk's In

Friday February 29, 2008

The April 2008 issue of Shonen Jump magazine includes news about a few notable changes to the magazine's lineup, namely the departure of Hikaru no Go and the addition of monthly installments of Slam Dunk in its place from the May 2008 issue.

While many fans will miss seeing the adventures of Hikaru and Sai in Shonen Jump's monthly line-up, the stories will continue in the graphic novels, which will be released on a slightly speedier schedule, starting with Volume 12 due out on May 6 and Volume 13 in stores on October 7.

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to more installments of Slam Dunk and get acquainted with this legendary sports manga series by Takehiko Inoue prior to its graphic novel debut in September 2008.

More treats to look forward to in the April issue:

  • A free Naruto trading card, featuring Sasuke that will give players a powerful weapon in their collectible card game (CCG) arsenal.
  • Naruto Figurine Contest - 20 Shonen Jump readers will get a chance to win a limited edition Naruto series 4 figure from Bandai.
  • Gun Blaze West Manga Preview - Get a sneak peek at the new Western adventure series by Nobuhiro Watsuki, the creator of Buso Renkin and Rurouni Kenshin.
  • Articles on favorite manga monsters - From Shonen Jump titles including Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, One Piece, Bleach and more.
Plus the latest installments of Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Yu-Gi-Oh GX, YuYu Hakusho and Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo. Look for this issue on the newsstands on March 4, 2008.
