New York Anime Festival Posts Schedule, Videos

Sunday November 18, 2007

In an act of unheard of efficiency, the New York Anime Festival organizers have already posted up the schedules for their events, anime screenings and panel presentations for their December 6 - 9, 2007 show (almost a month ahead of the event!). The programming grid is also available as a downloadable PDF too.

If you're still on the fence about attending this first-time event at New York City's Jacob Javits Center, here's a few more reasons why you might want to book your trip to Manhattan:

  • The Anime Insider and World Cosplay Summit Masquerade - The winners will be chosen as the U.S. representative at the 2008 World Cosplay Summit in Japan.
  • New Nana, Honey and Clover Movies Debut - U.S. Premieres of the live action movies for Nana, Honey and Clover and Love*Com
  • Tsubasa, xxxHolic Movie and More - A ton of new and recently released anime will be showing at this event, including anime adaptations of popular manga titles, including the Tsubasa and xxxHolic animated feature film, episodes of One Piece, The Wallflower, Loveless and a lot more.
  • New Announcements, Previews of Manga - Most of the major U.S. manga publishers will be on hand to showcase their new and upcoming releases. Look for Del Rey Manga, Go! Comi, Yen Press, VIZ Media, TokyoPop, Drama Queen, and Vertical Inc. to make some big announcements for 2008 here. Most tantalizing of all: A joint announcement from Del Rey Manga and Marvel Comics on Sunday!
  • Special Guests Appearances - The original Speed Racer voice talents, Peter Fernandez (Speed) and Corrinne Orr (Trixie) will be on hand, along with anime director Kobun Shizuno, animator and author Aimee Major Steinberger (Japan Ai), Kodansha editor / Faust magazine editor Katsushi Ota, and too many more to list here.

And just for fun, view some video hijinks from the New York Anime Festival Folks as they ask, "Where's the Anime in New York City?"
