VIZ Pictures to Release Nana, Honey & Clover Films in US

VIZ Pictures / VIZ Media recently announced the upcoming U.S. release of the live action films based on three popular shojo manga series from Shojo Beat: Honey and Clover, Love.Com and Nana.

Honey and Clover is a fun and romantic story about art school students falling in and out of love while trying to survive that 'starving students' stage of life. The manga series recently debuted in Shojo Beat magazine and the first graphic novel due out in early 2008. Meanwhile, the live-action movie will be showing in theaters nationwide in December 2007.

Love.com is another romantic comedy based on a Shojo Beat manga series, this time it's two mismatched high school students who are wrestling with Cupid's capricious ways. Risa's the tallest girl in her class. Atsushi is one of the shortest guys in school. So why does everyone think that these childhood pals are going out? Love.com the movie will be available on DVD in February 2008.

And last, but definitely not least, two, count 'em, two Nana movies will be arriving on North American shores in early 2008. Based on Nana, the best-selling manga series by Ai Yazawa, The first Nana movie will be released in early 2008 and its sequel, Nana 2 will debut in Spring 2008.

Special premiere showings of the Honey and Clover, Love.com and Nana feature films are scheduled for the New York Anime Festival from December 7 - 9 in New York City.
