Cosplay Day, Manga Biz Panel at NYC Kinokuniya

Wednesday October 31, 2007
As the New York Times reported last week, leading Japanese bookstore chain Kinokuniya opened their new flagship store in New York City recently. To celebrate, Kinokuniya will be hosting several exciting events planned for the coming weeks.

This Saturday November 3 will be Cosplay Day at the Bryant Park Kinokuniya store. Fans who come in costume to the store at 1073 Avenue of the Americas (between 40th and 41st Streets) between 10 AM to 8 PM will receive a 10% discount off all anime and manga purchases and be entered into a raffle to win one of 10 complimentary weekend passes to the New York Anime Festival. In addition, the first 500 cosplayers will all take home a gift bag courtesy of VIZ Media.

Also scheduled for Saturday, November 3 at 2 pm, Del Rey Manga is hosting the "Your Career in Manga" panel. Get the scoop on the manga business straight from the source. Learn how manga is translated, published, promoted and the skills you need to start your career in the biz.

Del Rey Manga Associate Publisher Dallas Middaugh, Publishing Associate Tricia Narwani, Marketing Manager Ali T. Kokmen, Production Manager Caron Harris, Associate Publicist April Flores and freelance translator Mari Morimoto will be on hand to share their experiences and answer your questions. The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited, so come early if you're interested.

For more information on these events, call the Kinokuniya Bryant Park store at 212-869-1700.
